Elizabitch Hasselbeck is starting to get on my damn nerves!

Okay...when Rosie was on the View, I sided with her cuz it was just nice to see someone stand up to Rosie. Especially after the whole thing with Trump, because she thinks she's smarter and funnier than she truly is. I used to love her show but now I can't stand her.

HOWEVER Elizabeth Hassleback is statrtig to irritate the hell outta me! I don't feel like posting the videos nor do I have the time, becuase I'm actually supposed to be continuing my weather alerts for fam and friends in the area who are at work and can't watch the live press conferences that Gov. Jindal and our local officials are having every so many hours because of Hurricane Ike, which poses a HUGE threat to us right now. But go on YouTube and look up her talking about Michelle Obama and then proceeding in other vids to stick her head all up Sarah Palin's ass...or vagina sine the only reason she seems so thrilled is because she's a womn. NEWS FLASH: I am just as much for women breakin barriers as the next female, BUT all women are not created equal. SHE IS NOT THE ONE. Plain and simple.

Hurricane Ike is headed towards the Gulf. If Southern Louisiana is forced to evacuate it will be the 2 time in 10 days. I LOVE Louisiana but this is enough to make a sister wanna move. Then to top it off, FEMA or the state don't wanna reimburse my area for the expenses we acquired during Gustav. So now if Ike comes and....OMG. I don't even wanna go into it again. I been ranting and raving about it all day. Just pray for the Gulf Coast.

Hey ppl! Hurricane Gustav barely missed us, praise God. BUt to those that were hit, my prayers and sympathy are withoyu. I remember what Rita did to my area 3 yrs ago.

Anyways, first thing first..... big ups to anyone who participated in the Midnight Fantasies Lake Front Tour 08. For those of you who dunno, its a big car show in the Louisiana area. Me thinks it may go elsewhere too though but I'm not sure, LOL. But yeah, I just left there...the judging hadn't been announced but I would hate to be one of those judges because there were a LOT of hot cars out there. I enjoyed myself. Too bad my DC was full and my memory card is broke (don't ask) or I'd have pics. But I can't wait til me and The Honey get some fly, souped up whips to enter.

Uh...I had so much stuff I wanted to write about over the time we had evacuated but in the chaos that is being a refugee, I forgot, LOL!!

Hey ppl. Ya may not see another post from me in a minute due to the rapidly approaching Hurricane Gustav, who had to come at the worst possible time ever. And Idk if I'mma be near a wireless network. Or near anyone with a PC. Idk where i'm even going for sure yet, but I'm goin with The Honey and his parents to their relatives/a hotel. Not the way I want things but...so be it. Say it loud: I'm Black- but am I proud??

Today I was doing my usual boredom ritual, which consists of Google-ing a certain list of words and phrases to see what I could see. And as I made my way to my favorite, "natural hair"...(the images give me styling ideas sometimes), I noticed and article that I can't seem to find now unfortunately, that was about a black beauty magazine running an ad campaign for a skin lightening product line called "So White!". I laughed. But it is far from funny. This is right on the heels of the L'Oreal-Beyonce' scandal. What are these marketing folk thinking? Geez, I don't even know where to start on this one, man.
I am even more dismayed because most of these ads are aimed at YOUNG consumers, ya know, the teeny boppers as I call em. My heart hurts, especially as a dark skinned sister myself!! I remember the days...on the playground, a kid getting mad because you outraced him, and he calls out in frustration "Tarbaby!" or "Blackie!". And those are tame compared to a lot of other things I heard. Not to mention having to deal with the older people. "Stay out the sun baby, you can't afford to get no darker". But the line I hated the most, "Girl,you better make sho you marry a light skinned boy because if you don't I fell sorry for yo chil'en. " UGH!!! There were many days when I wanted to tell some of those old bittys about themselves, but out of respect for my elders, I refrained (Damn my manners sometimes). Growing up and hearing those things is damdging to a girl's self esteem. Then you start getting "You're cute, for a dark girl." Is is possible for me just to be cute? But I guess not because I'm dark, according to these ppl. But its stupid. A stupid, dated mentality that stems from the whole "field nigger/house nigger" thing. I thought we had addressed it in the 60s, but I guess not.
Instead of this riddiculous notion that light ppl and dark ppl are different, this...ignorant caste system we have implemented, we should be sticking together as black ppl. I mean, there are already enough problems we have to deal, like unfair media portrayal, police brutatlity, etc, etc. So let's not add to that. OH! I almost forgot....then of course you have idiots like Young Berg making comments about "dark butts" (wtf?!?!). I dunno...its all just too much for me. I cannot fathom someone thinking a shade difference would make them more attractive (although I actually know some people that think that way...I do live in the DEEP south afterall).
Anyway, I've gone off on a seperate tangent....the point is if the magazine was aimed at black beauty/fashion concious consumers WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU RUN AN AD LIKE THAT?? If all your articles are about maintain clear skin and taking care of natural hair and things of a like nature, why would you run an ad that would cause such an uproar among people that want to do such things? Among your readers? Your bread and butter?? Plus I hear a lot of these products can cause all kinds of side effects, skin disorders, the fumes can lead to various cancers.... SMH. LOL, c'mon...look at Micheal Jackson. Is that really the route you want to take?? I just don't get ppl. I could go further...the whole blond hair, blue eyes beauty standard seems to be going a little far these days. I mean you have ther right to do what you want, but why would you wanna change what you are hat way? That's like a slap in the face to your parents and God....just upper cuttin' and dissin' your genes, LOL.

But I owe the inspiration to really start my own ....page, I guess, to none other than Mr. Kanye West. I am ADDICTED to his blog. And 'Ye doesn't really write much, but he posts the most interesting things and his posts spark good conversations.
